I really like the story of Janine Antoni's Moor piece. She collected scraps of fabrics and materials that are very close to her heart. These materials came from her family, friends and even belongings of people that she cared about that passed away. I like the idea that she has taken things that would have soon been forgotten and given them a new life. This work influences me to appreciate everything around me and its other uses. I believe that while she is taking these scraps of materials and braiding them together one by one, she gets to remember fond memories of these people and experiences they come with.
